Day 39 Travelling day from Tarbert (Kintyre) to Lamlash (Arran)
We woke to sunshine and smiles. Finally a really lovely sunny day for our travels south to Skipness then east crossing on the ferry to Arran. Today we said good-bye to Claire and Norman who were heading south to attended the AOC's Northern Weekend. Our group shrunk back to 4 cars.

THE SUN IS SHINING! and its not wishful thinking.... |

Packed up the 12/60 heads off for the ferry at Skipness. |
After a leisurely breakfast we packed the cars and headed off on the short trip down the Kintyre
Peninsula to Claonaig and Skipness to take the short ferry crossing to Arran.

The cars attract alot of interest. |

Bit squeezy on the ferry crossing to Arran |
Getting on the ferry was interesting and more so getting out of the "suicide doors" to pay the fare was even more interesting. After a 20 minute trip we landed
in Lochranza on Arran and headed south down the east coast of Arran. The sun just kept shining.

Arriving on Arran. |

Lochranza Castle ruins. |
We arrived just before midday so we ambled down the east coast - a short trip found us at the Arran Distillery just outside Lochranza where we stopped for a very nice
early lunch.

Heading south |
Our journey then continued south through Brodick to our overnight stop
at Lamlash, about half way down the island.

The Speed 20 parked outside our hotel in Lamlash - Holy Island in the background. |

The hotel has a very nice beer
garden and as the sun was shining we had a couple of drinks before a top
quality meal, made better by a knowledgeable and entertaining waiter. A really great venue.
