Day 28 12/6/16 In and around seaside village of Plockton (Western Scotland).

Day 28 In and around Plockton.

We agreed to opt for a quiet (no driving) day today.  Following a really lovely breakfast we decided to take a short walk around the point through a nearby woodland park.  Thanks to our magnificent host, Theresa, we were able to have some laundry done - which was getting a little urgent.  David and Kay went "a fiddling" and David earned his trip on the 10.30 am seal boat tour by agreeing to play his fiddle for the tourists.  Alan, Noeline, Dale and I decided to walk first this morning and do the seal boat cruise in the afternoon.  It was a delightful short walk though a nearby wood that circles around to the south of Plockton with some really breathtaking viewing points.

Wild poppies in bloom.

Unknown massive leaved ground cover.

Lovely Rhododendron and Azaleas are out at the moment.

Heading off on our walk

Interesting wild flowers everywhere

Waterlily in bloom

First view point across the bay.

The woodland track winds ever onward.

Second view point

Foxgloves in flower - the bumblebees are have a field day at the moment.
A mass of flies are hitching a free ride on Alan's vest.

View point three.

Viewpoint four.

Heading back into the village.

After the walk we explored Plockton's main street and then after a cup of tea and scone (with jam and cream) we went out on the 2.30 pm seal boat cruise.
Foreshore garden plots - begin blooming.

Gardening Plockton style.
The seal boat cruiser starts at the far end of the village.  The skipper guarantee’s that you will see seals or your money back, in fact they don’t collect the money till after you actually see seals. As he is a Scott, we are pretty sure he has the seals on a watertight contract.

Our first seal sighting

Our second seal sighting - the skipper is now collecting the fares!

A relaxed permanent fixture in the bay - seals basking in the "sun".

Goose takes exception to our presence!

View of our B&B from the water
The magnificent clematis in front of the B&B is in full bloom.
We arrive home after dinner in the village and David feels the urge to tinkle the ivories....
Evening falls in the bay

and the rain starts.....

Tomorrow we set off to join the 12/50 Register in Perthshire.  It could be a long day of driving.
